Italy beat Northern Ireland 2-0 on their World Cup qualifiers 2021

The men's national team won 2-0 against Northern Ireland in their first World Cup qualifier match in Qatar in 2022, played Thursday night at the Tardini in Parma. The goals were scored in the first half: in the 14th by Domenico Berardi and in the 39th by Ciro Immobile. With their debut victory, Italy leads group C in a tie with Switzerland, who beat Bulgaria 3-1.

In all likelihood, Switzerland will be the opponent with whom Italy will compete for first place in the group that guarantees direct access to the final phase of the World Cup: the runners-up will have to go through the play-offs. The next two matches of the national team, both valid for the qualifiers, are scheduled for Sunday 28th in Sofia against Bulgaria and Wednesday 31st in Vilnius against Lithuania.
